Initial situation

In a metalworking company, turning, drilling and thread chasing of steels and high-alloy steels (1.4571) is carried out on Cincom sliding headstock automatic lathes and automatic lathes of the DMG Sprint series. A coolant with an additive content of 6-7% is used according to laboratory analyses. The company is looking for ways to extend tool life and reduce set-up times.
