Initial situation

A tool manufacturer turns, mills, drills and taps cast iron and unalloyed steels on various machining centres and grinding machines. Previously, a water-miscible coolant based on boric acid, amines and formaldehyde depot substances with an increased mineral oil content of 45% was used. Labelled with "caustic" and the signal word "Danger", the product causes skin irritation in some employees. Furthermore, the product leads to dimensional inaccuracies during sanding, deposits in the form of lime soaps, a premature drop in the pH value and, in some cases, heavy oil mist. The company is looking for ways to increase work safety and reduce the number of adjusting agents used.

By using Mabanol Cut 263 BF, the harmful effects on employees' health can be eliminated and, thanks to the milder labelling, the Group's internal occupational health and safety guidelines can be followed.

Mabanol Cut 263 BF also improves the sanding result by preventing dimensional inaccuracies caused by sticking sanding discs. Machine cleanliness is also significantly improved by considerably less oil mist and the absence of lime soaps and other drag-out.

In addition, the use of Mabanol Cut 263 BF no longer requires any additional adjusting agents, while at the same time significantly extending the service life of the emulsion.
